Oat hay harvested at heading stage, high sugar, excellent palatability
Premium oat hay harvested at heading stage, conditioned and fast-dried, then mechanically baled with golden color and sweet aroma.
Two concepts must be distinguished: chop length (Häcksellänge) mainly applies to silage or TMR (2-4cm recommended for oat silage), while stubble height (Schnitthöhe) is the key field parameter that directly affects oat regrowth and quality.
Our product follows German oat hay quality standards. The following parameters serve as a clear quality checklist for farms:
Stubble height: 6-8cm (never below 5cm), protecting plant reserves for next-cut yield and persistence.
Dry matter: above 86% (above 860 g/kg) for stable, mould-free storage.
Crude protein: 7%-11%; oat hay is valued for fiber and energy, with relatively low protein.
Net energy: NEL 5.1-5.5 MJ/kg DM, providing base energy.
Fiber: NDF 430-530 g/kg DM (typical of quality roughage for rumen health), ADF 280-330 g/kg DM for balanced digestibility.
Delivered to clear, verifiable German standards, so every batch of oat hay is fully transparent to the farm.
